Thanks once again leupold, however i still have a problem.

When i attach the database, under my attached database -> tables -> system tables, there are no tables there at all.

Does this mean that i have lost everything and need to install the site again?

Cheers,

Jy.

Thanks once again leupold, however im still having no luck. I cant access the site from the www.hostename.com/aspx?ctl=login address either.

Then i downloaded the database and i have tried to ediit it the table, but found there was no tables in the database store, tables option.

Am i doing something wrong? I got the database file from "App_data" folder on the webserver.

Can someone help me please as i am really stuck!

thanks everyone!

custom tables shall be listed aside of system tables, not within.

if there are no tables and no stored procedures (see programmability / stored procedures) you most likely got the wrong database. Please post the connection string from your database (without passwords, if any!)

is this correct, i got the connection string from the web.config file. Also should this file be in the root directory as i found a few of them on the site in different directories.

Here is the connection string:

 <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Data Source=.\tcp:sql2k508.discountasp.net;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|dnn434;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005-->
    <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=sql2k508.discountasp.net;Database=SQL2005_381568_gamesbuzz;uid=********;pwd=******;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
  </connectionStrings>
  <appSettings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFiorylename=|DataDirect|Database.mdf;"/> -->
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules-->
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=sql2k508.discountasp.net;Database=SQL2005_381568_gamesbuzz;uid=********;pwd=******;" />

Any ideas where the database lives?

cheers.

Ok, i worked it out. I have logged onto the database, changed the value and now the re-direct is not happening anymore. HOWEVER, i have a new problem.

It now says,

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

PortalAliasID

Any idea on how to fix this?

Once, again, thank you so much for your help!
