view/edit portion of the control panel is displayed, when the current user has been granted edit permission for at least one module at the page. you can hide the control panel by setting cache time to -1 in module settings or disable the option all together in host settings.

Thanks for the information and suggestion.  However, the current user has not been granted edit permission for any module.

The Mode: View / Edit portion of the Control Panel displaying at the top of one page was trouble for an associate yesterday. Just as you pointed out, Sebastian, only one of many modules on the page had the Role All Users set to Edit permission. Thanks for that suggestion.

This one module also had the new 4.5.x Username permission enabled to Edit for one user. I think it's a bug I've seen myself and I believe it's been reported in Gemini, that sometimes giving one user Edit permission (to a page or module) can cause the All Users Role to get enabled to Edit permission, too. And when All Users has Edit permission to even one module on a page, the Mode: View / Edit Control Panel will display.

Brett,

the issue, that individual permissions get assigned to all users should be solved in DNN 4.5.4+, I suggest to upgrade.

I just checked: DotNetNuke 4.5.3 is what's installed - so we will upgrade - thank you, Sebastian.
