I am installing dotnetnuke for the first time.  I just downloaded yesterday and am in the process of trying to run the install wizard.  When I get to the portion of the wizard where it asks for BD info I enter the info and click TestDatabase Connection and I get the following error

Connection Error(s):
Index #: 0
Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Class: 14
Number: 18488
Message: Login failed for user 'dotnetnuke'. Reason: The password of the account must be changed.

I have verified the user info in the web.config file is correct. I have verified the user exists and is set as the owner of the dotnetnuke database.  I changed the password just to see if the error would change to authentication failed or something similar and it did. I even tried going changing the password for the specified user in SQL and still had no luck.  Any Ideas?

If the SQL server requires a password change, you need to change your password and alter it in web.config connection strings as well.

In SQL Server 2005 you can turn off the password expiration when you create your accounts as well.

Thanks

Turns out someone set the sql server to use windows authentication.  I changed this and everything was fine.
