I haven't ever seen IMC in action and I don't think it's even available in versions 4+. Am I wrong?

Michael,

Do you use that solution even when you don't need the user selection to persist or cross pages?  If so, would you mind explaining.  I would assume wiring IMC would be faster than writing to the DB.

The solution is used in the Survey module and that doesn't need the data to be persisted across pages. I have never used IMC so I cannot comment on the speed.

Is there a way to access module settings from other modules using an ajax panel? Can I store objects as a module setting?

If you pass it the proper ModuleID yes. I do not have a code example.

The ModuleSettings DB type nvarchar(2000).  To store an object I imagine you would have encode/decode it based on binary or xml or ? provided it was less than 2000 char.
