I (for some dumb reason) tried to change the skin for admin using the site settings tab, now i can do longer access the "site settings" tab from the "Admin drop down menu." instead I get this
"A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
I'm at a loss. How do i fix it? I have a back copy of the site can I replace the necessary files?
HELP!

Do you have a backup of the database?

What skin did you change the admin skin to? You might try deleting that skin from the portals/#/skins folder (where # is your portal id) to see if that fixes the problem. Only delete the skin if you have a backup of it or don't care to ever see it again.

I have a blog post that shows you how to revert the skin back to a default DNN skin as long as you have it installed on your site.  If you visit my blog page you can search for emergency procedures and it will be listed there.  (I can't get to my site right now or I would provide a direct link...)
