Hi everyone, The "typical" installation for DNN 4.5.5 went okay. But, when I try to access the DNN site, I get the following error. Now, I have read through many posts that had the same problem but no solutions found ! Any ideas / solutions would be much appreciated !! - Thanks, Ace.

Also, One more question:

I am trying to get DNN working in the MS Business Package on 1and1.com. Does anyone here have a successful installation in a "Shared" environment on this host ?

I followed their FAQ at : http://faq.1and1.com/scripting_languages_supported/asp_net/dotnetnuke/4.html (This is for version 4.3.3)

i Have a DNN-Installation with 1und1.de in an shared Enviroment. After many Trys it was functional.

But i have to install DNN in the root-Folder, otherwise it didn't run's.

While upgrading to 4.5.5 it now doesn't work cause of  the following Error:

Unhandled Error:  ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Now it work's.

I copied the upgrade Files many times by ftp with option "overwriting".

Each time i started the default.aspx it show's ..upgrading from.. to.... and ...then performing general updates... (or so.)

after the 5th try the upgrade-Page shows the upgrades for the sqlDataProviderscripts with "success".

By this the Portal was funcional. I remember, the same happens upgrading the last time. I thought my ftp-proggi was the reasen. I tried this time two different ftp#Progs (smart-ftp and WISE-ftp) and both didn't copy every time all files. I tried the same from an other location. The same result.

I think that the ftp-slot by 1und1 is not the best, or both Proggis are .......

Best regards,

Frank
