You can use the dnn Module Upgrade Wizard to upgrade the module to dnn 4. You can download that on the dnn downloads page (under dnn 4.3.7)

The zipfile download contains a helpfile that does a walkthrough. The upgrade wizard will make a dnn dynamic module btw. Of course you need a running local dnn instance

I have tried that and it ain't working for me. When I launch the program the first thing it asks me for is for a DotNetNuke3 installation, which I don't have, and then the DotNetNuke4 installation.

I have tried using in both places my DNN4 installation folder and when I go to the next window, it shows no modules to trasnform.

Do I need to install a DNN 3 version with the announcement module?

the upgrade wizzard is there to help you. It's not that hard to set up a dnn 3 on localhost. AFAIK you dont need vs2003, the wizzard just needs a source location. Be sure you have the source version of the module installed

Hi Erik,

The DNN3.x and the Module Upgrade Wizard is no longer available to download.

Do you or anyone else know where I can download them from or is there another way to modify the modules in VS2005 or VS2008.

Thanks

- I need one News Module Instance in the Home Tab with "rolling effect" that only should allow visualization, and where the news shouldn't be editable.

Well, the existing News v4.0.1 module has a ticker2 xsl that rolls news across the screen in a horizontal area.  I use it in the top panel to display rssv2.0 feeds.  The presentation does not allow edits.  You can modify the xsl to suit your needs, as well.

- I need another "News" Module Instance with two Panels in a News Tab, one on the left with the summary of the news with scroll, and one of the right with the details of the selected new from the left.

That is going to require a new module, and I would base it on the older News v3.0.1 version rather than the newer module version.  In my opinion, it will be much simpler to modify to your needs. Also, you might want to consider investigating the Feed Explorer module as an alternative.  It has tabs, but not exactly the presentation module you envision.
