Is it possible to change the behavior of hyperlinks in threads?

I've noticed that if I'm reading a thread on these forums and I click a hyperlink in one of the messages, my current browser window is redirected.

Would it be possible to change the behavior so that a new window is opened?

Thanks
Dave

Since the user "creates" the links in the text Editor, and can manipulat the Html if they want, this is not something that we can really control, without parsing the text for <a> tags and manipulating them.

Most browsers have an option on the context menu to "Open in New Window".

If you are using Firefox, holding the "Ctrl" key down while clicking the link, opens the page in a new tab.

In IE holding the "Shift" key down opens a new window.
