Hello all,

I am in the process of integrating a chat room with my DNN portal. The vendor gave me some information, but I am not a programmer and I'm hoping someone can help me interpret some of their terminology as it pertains to DNN.

Here's the information:

Hi James,

You need to send a HTTP Post to our php script which will return you the
result to whether the user is added successfully.

Below is the information that you need to send via the HTTP Post

Where site is your site id, username is your admin username, password is
your admin password, cmd is the command that you want to execute(in this
case it is the adding of users), arg_username is the name of the user you
want to add and arg_password is the password of that particular user.

site=CBS1&username=CBS1admin&password=mypassword
&cmd=addUser&arg_username=NewUser&arg_password=NewPassword

The info itself, looks pretty simple. But, I have no idea where this data is supposed to go.

you might integrate the chat room using iframe module, passing the parameters in URL (see iFrame configuration).

Another option is using a DNN chat module, e.g. from www.imesser.com or cutechat from www.cutesoft.com.

Thank you Leupold! I will look into the other chat rooms.

My existing chat room is in Iframe at this time. The present URL looks like this:

http://host3.chatblazer.com/client.php?site=CBS26&user=james

Below is the code the vendor gave me.

site=CBS1&username=CBS1admin&password=mypassword
&cmd=addUser&arg_username=NewUser&arg_password=NewPassword

Would this be the parameters you were referring to?

http://host3.chatblazer.com/client.php?site=CBS1&username=CBS1admin&password=mypassword
&cmd=addUser&arg_username=NewUser&arg_password=NewPassword

I entered the admin name and password in the string. When you mention fix parameters, are you referring to the CBS# ?
