I found Shawn's description not to work. It kept demanding an app_global DLL when I did the Publish to Web feature. Also, I'm not sure if the numebrs at the end of the published DLL files remain the same on each build. I ended up distributing the C# code for my UI and embedding my BLL in a PA.

With the new Web Application Model NO conversion was needed an you can develop your modules without using the DNN Starterkit.

True but you cannot use Visual Web Developer to work with this project type (only Visual Studio), so the benefit is that we now can support "both" deevlopment paradigms.

What is the "new DNN4 Generic version of FillCollection"?  I'm getting an error in my DNN3 DataProvider when trying to convert the code to DNN4.  The error is TypeInitializationException "Cannot create an Abstract class."

Hi Charles

You mentioned that it doesn't takelong to upgrade the old modules. Do you know of a quick guide anywhere that tells you how to upgrade old modules to fit in with the new framework?

Thanks for any help.

Paul

As far as I've seen, there isn't any difference between DNN 3 and 4 modules. The only differences are in the framework. Look at one of the .NET 1.1 to 2.0 migration guides for details.
