Thank  you so much for your speedy response!  I have uninstalled 4.0.2.  I am willing to upgrade to DELUXE - but which one?

Hello GoDaddy/DNN users,

Anyone have a problem creating child portals on GoDaddy? I've been able to successfully install GoDaddy using the step by step instructions on this thread (the one where you copy web.config to the Config folder and cut it from the remote site to the root), and its worked great.

But now I've noticed with version 4.3.3 and 4.3.4 that I'm unable to create child portals. I looked around to see if this was an actual bug with DNN, and made my comments to: http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?ID=3679

But I was deferred to asking in the forum. So, anyone else experience this? I gave my Portals directory read, write and wev permissions. Are there any other permissions to install for any other folders now? Thanks.

- Andre

It's easier than you think.  I have recently setup a DotNetNuke site on Go Daddy manually with http://www.northernstarsolutions.com/.

Here is the link for getting the site up and running on the root path http://www.northernstarsolutions.com/Troubleshooting/GodaddyHosting/tabid/61/Default.aspx.

I have done this about 50 ways to sunday without success. The directions are spotty at best so far. I have yet to get the server to give me any errors besides the runtime errors. Even though I changed the custome errors to "off". Hell at this point I would give a crap if my site was buried in 10000 folders as long as the #$%@ thing working. All this because I wanted to have a picture gallery so the family had a place to post. At one point I did have the Upgrade error but thats the closest thing to a running website I could figure out. It would be appreciated if someone had a link to a well written howto. Sorry Michael yours is not easily understandable or clear. I think 5 days of futzing with this is good enough for me.....
