Hi all

This might be a silly question but ...

I'm about to start developing modules using the starter kit and I have Visual Studio 2005 Professional because I do WinForms development.

Is there any advantage in using Visual Web Developer instead of VS 2005 for developing DNN modules?

I know VWD is a free subset of VS 2005 but I'm asking the question because Sean's info about the starter kit makes it clear you can install VWD on the same machine as VS 2005. That sort of implies that there is a reason to do it and use VWD instead of VS 2005.

Thanks
Ross

There is no benifit to using VWD if you have VS 2005:

Plus, while you can build your module, entirely within the the Web-Project in DNN 4, there are some instances where you might want to use a Class Library for some of your supporting "classes".  In this case VWD would NOT work, as it does not support Class Library projects.
