Good day!

I have been playing around with this module, and love what it can do, but since I am still new I thought I would ask a question on your opinion.

I run a web site for a High school teacher friend of mine. His goal is to be able to enter in a table all his students ID Numbers, Last names, and then constant data on grades. The goal is for the student to come in as a guest, put their last name and id number (Both having to be correct) and it will display only  their row of grades with an Average at the end, or even simpler, just their average (or more precisely their current grade in the class). Is this a job for UDT, or is it out of the scope of what it was designed for? Should I look into 3rd party form-building software?

Thank you for you time, and the most amazing work on these DNN Projects.

Gabe

It is manageable with XSLT, but it is not build in.

I would create two pages. The page for the high school teacher would get the "master" udt, and the teacher will work with that side.

On the second "guest" page, you will referennce the existing UDT (Add existing module".

Now you will need some more knowledge about XSL and parameters inside UDT, this will be covered by the documentation that will be publisched within the next days.

if you only want to make sure, that users only get their own results displayed, this can also be realized by default grid and a filter.

as Stefan stated before, you should have placed a reference of the module on one tab for the teacher and created a shadow copy on another tab for the student. The second one gets a filter  "userName Like [row:student]" - though in this case the user needs to be a registered member of the site.

Sebastian, he asked for a solution that works with unregistered users.
