I am running Repository 03.00.16 on DNN 3.1.1. I have a number of .wmv files. I can download one that is 30 meg, but I have another at 90 meg and all that happens is that the page seems to time out and show  the "page cannot be displayed" error.

The postback URL and everything else seems fine. It just doesn't work with large files for some reason. I can upload the big files absolutely fine. Any ideas?

Thanks

You'll have to edit your web.config to handle files that size. Look for this line in your web.config

<httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="81920" />

and adjust the maxRequestLength (that number is roughly 8MB) and you may have to add an executionTimeout="XXX" (the value is in seconds) to it as well. I can't remember the default timeout but it's somewhere around 90 seconds.

I forgot to say I already did that - settings are as follows:

 <httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="1024000" executionTimeout="3600" />

Site is currently live, I could bung up a big file to let you see the problem in action if it will help?

I took a look at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpgenref/html/gngrfhttpruntimesection.asp to see if I could find any info for you. What prompted me to look was the timeout of an hour. That seemed a little bit excessive and I was hoping to find out of there was a maximum time limit (I didn't). I don't think the application timeout would play a role but it just might. Maybe post a link to this thread in the main forums. There's a better chance one of the web.config gurus seeing it there.
