hello leupold,

thank you for your help,
i don't know why but the last 2 posts are not appearing (although they were approved), anyway, i will rephrase them:

on the online portal, i updated the admin role id in the portals tables and restarted the server itself. now, when i log in as admin, i can see all the admin icons except the admin Tab on the menu (i can see edit page, etc...). when i click on edit page, it says " You do not have access to view this tab within the portal. "

I looked at the tab in the tabs table, i filtered by portal id and found it to be similar to all other admin tabs on other portals.

to mimic the issue, offline, on my localhost, i added a category called testadmin, and assigned it to be the administrator category in the localhost's test portal.

when i logged in after restart windows, it does exactly the same (the icons of admin appear (edit page, etc, edit module), when clicked they give the same message and the admin tab is not showing).

any help is appreciated

ramzi

I don't understand - did you add a new admin user regularly and add it to the administrators role? and they you don't get the admin menu? - this sounds like a database corruption, You might need to revert to previous backup.

yes, i added myself to be on the new admin category (for example administors2), from there when i log in, i can see the admin menus on top, and on the modules also but when i click them i get the no prilege error. Also the rightmost menu tab is not appearing.

I can access the db normally, i looked up users, userroles and portals and checked it several times to see if anything is wrong, all the fields and lookups are fine.

you can duplicate this issue (i did ) on my localhost, so this makes it unlikely that the db is corrupted

Note: to replicate the issue, create a role called test, assign it admin from table portals and add a user to it, log in and you would see the admin tab missing on the right

thanks

there might be still some places depending on the name "Administrators".
