i must be lucky.. uploads work fine for me. Maybe its a trust issue, my site is running in full trust, due to incompatibilties with other modules as well (third party rss feed module)

cheers,

erik

hmm I’m well confused now .

You mean the windows security permissions, right? Well I’ve given network services the full control to the folder so I don’t think there is an issue there.

As I said, the strange thing is, zip file attachments are working perfectly but not other file formats. I’ve seen several posts here, which says exactly the same thing.

But yer it’s interesting that it works for you.

Do u mind sharing with us the versions you use?
dotnetnuke ver, forum ver, windows ver, IIS ver, .net ve, etc.

Thanks,

- Dilshan

no i mean code access security, you can set that in your web.config (unless your hosting provider forbids you to do that), by adding <trus level="full" /> the system.web section...

you can see for yourself here: http://www.apollo-software.nl/Forum/tabid/163/mid/543/threadid/522/scope/posts/Default.aspx (i temporarily enabled attachements, feel free to upload something)

setup is a no brainer:

win2k3, iis 6, .net 1.1, dnn 3.2.2. forum 3.20.01, ie.. just a run of the mill installation ;) I am pretty sure the problem lies in the code access security, in my experience that is a cause of many disputes between end-users and developers.... maybe we developers should only develop in medium trust.. or at least remember that even if we test a module and it works... for someone else it might not.

BTW, in order to upload one file you have to click 6 links/buttons at least... that should be enough to stop anyone from adding attachements....

Cheers,

Erik

Thanks for the reply Erik. I’ve done the change in web.config but no luck; I get exactly the same error as shown below. This happens when browse the file and press the add link.

If it’s a trust issue, then how come zip files works? That’s what I can’t understand. When attached zip files it works but for any other file it gives the below error.

Sorry I’m not questioning; I’m just trying to understand what’s wrong

In my case it's Win2003, IIS 6, .net 2, Forum 03.20.01 and DNN 4.0.3. (it's the same in DNN 4.0.2)
