I have provided a place to view the differences between core forum versions 3.20.9 & 4.4.3, here: http://www.dnnforums.com/Resources/FeatureComparison/3209vs443/tabid/102/Default.aspx

I do not use Active Forums, so I have no basis for comparison.

Nice!

You bundling that black theme with the module?  :)

There is only a single theme packaged w/ the module, Default. This is to keep the size down since most users won't use more than this. Other themes will be made available, after the module releases.

This looks awesome.  I can't wait.  The current forums are already pretty good.  My decision is to move forward with the current forums and then to upgrade later to the new forums.  I assume this is a much easier path to the new DNN forums than to use some other forum engine and to try to migrate to forums later.

The module's upgrade logic will handle everything for you automatically at time of upgrade, so yes starting w/ another forum system will make it difficult to migrate over.

Chris,

This is an excellent update! It really seems that the core forum will bridge significantly (if not erase) the gap with AF.

We decided to use AF for our implementation but I am on the brink of changing my mind. AF is a very robust product and ActiveModules continues to make it even better. However my experience with the company has been of very poor customer service/communication and they do not sell their source code so no customization is possible.

Thanks.

Ivan
