Here's the situation:

Previously we had a machine with DNN installed that was our primary server. Afterwards, moved the DNN installation to another server, on another location, and we're using the old one as a development machine. The installation that we've moved to the new one was complete, we simply moved it, including the web.config file, so the two installs are identical (except for the database).

After a while, we started creating daily backups on the live site, and downloading them for safety measures on the dev machine. Recently i've restored one such backup, but now i get a "The stored procedure 'dbo.xmdb_GetPortalAliasByPortalID' doesn't exist" error. I've connected manually to the database and all the info is there, as well as the stored procedure in question. Also keep in mind that the machine key is the same on both machines as the web.config file is copied from one machine to another.

I've found out online that some people managed to solve this error by creating a fresh database. However, i can't exactly afford to do this since i need to use the backup.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

When do you get that error about the missing SP (performing which operation in the site)?
Looks like you have configured (on the web.config) a objectqualifier="xmdb_".
Just in case, are you sure this hasn't changed? may be the proc that already exists is dbo.GetPortalAliasByPortalID (without the "xmdb_")?

HTH,
Horacio.-
