I too have the exact same problem.  What I have found is that I can login with IE from the server that I am hosting the portal on.  I can also login from the internet with firefox.  However I can not login from the internet with IE.  The portals will redirect me to the home page and that is it.  Any help would be great.

In looking around at some other posts, a reference to a cookie issue was made.  So I changed my settings in IE to allow cookies from my site and it works now.  I am not sure what had changed, I am pretty sure it was working with IE from my computer before.

Rick,

I'm not sure what your problem is but I think it's a browser problem.  The fix I have above with the DB whould affect you regardless of where you were accessing from or what browser you were using.
