We're also having install problems.  I'm curious.  Is anyone with this problem using a custom IIS account rather than the ASPNET user account?

I reported this in the DNN Bug Tracker on April 11,2005. No answer yet. Here is my post:

Issue ID: DNNP-2788

On DNN 4.02 (and now 4.03) I often cannot upload files from either the file manager or attempting to install a new module. File manager does not give an error. Installing new modules just returns to the module manager after upload - nothing to process.

A reboot of the server allows files to be uploaded for a while then stops again.

No error messages - just no files uploaded.

Some suggestions on the forum were to change settings in the web.config file to:

maxRequestLength="819200" requestLengthDiskThreshold="12192000"

but this did not sole the problem.

I am having this same problem and have yet to have found a solution which does not require rebooting the server.

Anyone have a solution?
