Hi everyone, i'm new to the DNN world so firstly, hi!

I've started getting into it by using DNN for Dummies (I tend to like these books!) and have followed all the instructions, set up the dbs and logins on the server, migrated all the files to the server (PipeTen hosting btw) and when I head over to the site I get this:

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

I do have some experience with .NET 2.0 and have used web.configs before, so I did as it asked and changed the custom errors to off, but i still get the messsage, even after clearing the cache.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Mark

Hi, I am also having the same issue.  First time i load the page i get the first error below, then the 2nd error when i try to view it again.

Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /dnn/Install/Install.aspx

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
