We've recently upgraded several portal instances from 4.5 to 4.6 and have experienced some pain.

We`have the Account Login module on every portal.   We've checked and confirmed the existence of the upgrade's files and folders.  The Account Login Module control was changed to Admin/Authentication/login.ascx  in each instance   Unfortunately, this module fails to render in all three portal instances.    Also, one of the instances is not like the others.    The "/?ctl=login" work-around does not work with this particular instance.  In this case, it was the use of Dynamic login which saves our bacon.   We believe the ctl=login functionality for this portal was lost awhile ago.  This is an older portal<2years>.  We believe it is caused by records deleted from the portal database.  - we tested the file system using a new DB Instance and the feature reappeared.   Any suggestions for either the "Account Login Module" and/or How to recover the "/?ctl=login" feature would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Hi,

I've got exactly the same problem on PokerDIY after my upgrade last night (test system worked fine). I was logged in as Host but I logged out before I realised. I am trying to get the error message from the error log on the server...

This is very urgent if anyone knows the solution -  I do not want to roll back if it is a simple or well known issue.

This was the same situation with ourselves.  The test environment works.  What we have noted is that the Version updates between the 'test environment' and the 'failed instance' are different;  The Test Environment has Version updates since 4.4.0 right up to 4.6.0   While the Failed Instance Version list is 4.4.0; 4.5.3; 4.5.4; 4.5.5 and finally 4.6.0  Otherwise we haven't detected any other thing noteable...  Does it make sense to attempt to apply the earlier updates to the failed instance or is it even possible?

Ok this is a major prob now and having no luck - might have to roll back to 4.5.1...

Out of interest, can you post the error that occurs in the Event viewer if you can get it? I was logged in but logged out before I realised the problem, and it's not appearing in the EventLog table or on file. It may shed some light on the problem...
