Just completed an upgrade on my first 4.5.5 server and have received the following:

Compilation Error

Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC30560: 'DataProvider' is ambiguous in the namespace 'DotNetNuke.Modules.HTML'.

Ok disregard.... Figured it out.... The best advice it to READ THE DOC folks... TWICE... if ya miss one little thing in that webconfig you are hosed... I had to check and triple check it before I found the error. What did this have to do with the error? Nothing.  But suffice it to say that you should never rely on a backup that is nothing more than a copy of the DNN directory on a different server.  Over writing with new files works great, BUT it lease old files there too... Hence when you restore you get stuff you should not have. 

I had a bad web config and restored from a copy of the directory on a different server. Fixed the web config, restored the DB and tried again. then hit error after error... I restored from tape (A clean copy of the directory) and compared the 2. BIG DIFFERENCE...

delete DotNetNuke.Modules.HTML.dll and DotNetNuke.Modules.HTML.SqlDataProvider.dll from your /bin folder.
