Hello,

I have my Intranet login working great but I have one issue that I need help with.  I want my users to be able to come to the site without logging in.  If they want access to some of the features on the site though, then I will require a login.  I have been trying to do this but I am left with two paths that I have seen.  If I don't require them to login then I get an error that says the site will not allow anonymous logins and to check my ISS settings.  All I have to do is hit refresh and it brings me to the homepage, but this is still an annoyance.  When I change the settings in ISS it will bring up a login and password window.  Again, by hitting refresh I can go to the login screen.  Is there anyway to bypass this completely?

Also, I want my users to be able to login without putting the domain first.  I found a link:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/89/threadid/60815/scope/posts/Default.aspx

But I have multiple domains that the user could log into.  I was thinking that maybe I could use a listbox for them to select from, and the append that to their name upon login.  Does this seem like a good idea?  Thanks for any help.

Comment out the <add name="Authentication".... /> under <httpModules> in your web.config. This will allow anonymous users but still allow your users to manually log in.

The multiple domain login is something I'm looking at as a future enhancement and I've never tried using it for multiple domains (I don't have access to one) but I do use it on our single domain so that users don't have to enter the domain and it works great.

I've tried doing this and have had no success.  Here is what I have and what I have tried.

I uncommented this line:

<add name="Authentication" type="DotNetNuke.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule, DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Authentication" />

which is the first line after <httpModules>.  When I do this, I get an error stating the Authentication has already been done on another line which is:

<add name="Authentication" type="DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule, DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory" />

So after getting rid of this line I tried it again and I got an error stating the it could not locate the file it needed.  Do I possibly have the wrong line of code or am I missing a file?  Thanks.

Leave the first line commented out as it's from the old web.config (pre DNN 4.6.0). It's supposed to be deleted when the provider is added but it looks like there's a bug somewhere. Comment out the second <add name="Authentication"... /> so that in the end both lines are commented out.

Okay, commenting out both lines seems to have done the trick, though I have not yet done extensive testing.  If I have any more problems I will let you know.

As far as the multiple domains go, I would definitely like to see that in a future update.  I am going to write something on my own for now and if I get something good I will post it here.

Thank you again for all your help.
