Well, I'm not on the CT and don't have much time to check into the coding issues.  But here are a couple of suggestions.

1) Review the issues reported in the bugtracker. support.dotnetnuke.com/project/Project.aspx - if it's not an official 'bug' then, no one is really doing much with it, so report it.

2) Folks do monitor the forums, but mostly these days, seems like more user issues are dealth with here than actual code fixes.  Just my impression.

3) I've used the XML/XSL module for display of RSS newsfeeds,  seems to work with less issues for some.  Give it try.  All you would need is to specify a XSL for the newsfeed.  I've posted many custom examples, so you should be able to find one suitable, if you can't find the default xsl used for the news feed module, location depends on which version of dnn you use.

Cheers

OK, so I checked the bugtracker and there is no bug reported for this issue against the News Module.  Also, I couldn't see the "Create New Issue" link anywhere so I couldn't create a bug report for this issue.  (Perhaps the project is locked from creating new issues?)

I'm perturbed about raising a question/concern in the forum here and not getting any 'official' feedback from either the project lead or team members.  Is Peter injured or something? Then I could understand. Otherwise, a backup/delegate lead for the forum/project should step-in and say 'something'. Or, alternatively, is there a way to escalate the forum post?

I'll try the XML module as a workaround as you suggested and report back.

Thanks,

Jack

Hey Jack,

I'm using XML/XSL module and it is doing the same thing. I can't try Full trust since my hosting company wont allow it.

Frustrating.

Jack post your bug report in ** DNN Core Framework and Modules [ PUBLIC ] ** (DNNP) and it'll be moved once Peter or one of his team reviews it.

FWIW, I've got the same problem with reading a blog feed but it seems to work fine for modules that use a rss.aspx.

I am having the exact same problem. I wanted to show my latest blog entry on my home page using the News Feeds module. I enabled syndication on my blog. Sometimes I get a connection error message just like yours and sometimes a unavailable message.

News Feed Is Not Available At This Time. Error message:An error occurred while parsing EntityName. Line 93, position 73. Do you or anyone have an resolution?
