Hi,
   I am having trouble getting up and running.  I have Donloaded dnn 4.6.1 and unzipped it and FTP'd it to my server.  I've set up a database, but I get the error:

[UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'D:\Inetpub\vhosts\adrianwadey.net\httpdocs\\DotNetNuke.config' is denied.]

It looks to me like the path should be httpdocs\Config\DotNetNuke.config

I have added the upgrade to 4.6.2 but same problem.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

TIA

Adrian

did you unzip hierarchically, preserving the folder structure?

did you configure properly IIS, following the installation guide, available on Documentation page in Resources menu above?

Hi,

the folder structure is OK.  I don't understand much about IIS to know if I have a good configuration.  I'm using DNN (or will be) so I can concentrate on content.  I've done some html and C/C++/VB programming but that's about it.  I'm prepared to learn C# if I need to get into programming modules, but was hoping to get a bit further than I am right now.

My ISP is http://www.eukhost.com/.  I picked them because they have ASP2 and the package looked good.  I paid my money now so would like to stay with them.

They use PLESK 8.2.0

Go to http://adrianwadey.net/dnnportal/ to see the error I'm getting.

I have set up a vitual directory called dnnportal and copied all the DNN files/folders into it.

The documentation is OK if you know what they're talking about but I could really do with an idiot's guide.

Thanks

Adrian

  <appSettings>

    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules

    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;" />

    -->

    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules -->

    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=;pwd=;"/>

    <add key="InstallTemplate" value="DotNetNuke.install.config" />

    <add key="AutoUpgrade" value="true" />

    <add key="UseInstallWizard" value="true" />

    <add key="InstallMemberRole" value="true" />

    <add key="ShowMissingKeys" value="false" />

    <add key="EnableWebFarmSupport" value="false" />

    <add key="EnableCachePersistence" value="false" />

    <add key="HostHeader" value="" />

    <!-- Host Header to remove from URL so "www.mydomain.com/johndoe/Default.aspx" is treated as "www.mydomain.com/Default.aspx" -->

    <add key="RemoveAngleBrackets" value="false" />

    <!--optionally strip angle brackets on public login and registration screens-->

    <add key="PersistentCookieTimeout" value="0" />

    <!--use as persistent cookie expiration. Value is in minutes, and only active if a non-zero figure-->

    <add key="InstallationDate" value="10/23/2007" />

  </appSettings>

and instalation wizard works
