I never heard that DNN can run with more than one database. And if it could, it wouldn't reduce the disk space required. I'm no database expert, but perhaps it helps to clear the log files (event log, site log, transaction log). Here are some other threads about too big DNN databases:

database becoming too big
ever increasing database--Help
database is full just at 4 gigs

I hope they're useful.

Am really new to all these, I went through the your post and I think I have a similar problem, I run a community site thats Live and right now my users are unable to upload their videos and photos, Godday.com said my database cannot be increased. I only have 200 mb of database. But since a database only stores text I believe it's imposible to be full already.

I did SP_SPACEUSED EventLog;

name rows reserved data index_size unused
EventLog 2097 10400 KB 8992 KB 32 KB 1376 KB

And SP_SPACEUSED SiteLog;

name rows reserved data index_size unused
SiteLog 0 0 KB 0 KB 0 KB 0 KB

As you can see my database don't look full, theres a problem some where please help, am unable to upload anything to the site right now.

  1. clear your eventlog by executing the following statement from inside DotNetNuke, Host Menu, SQL:

    Truncate Table {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}EventLog
  2. make sure the transaction log of your database is truncated during backups, your provider shall be able to help you with this.

I know am asking for too much, but is it possible for you to help cos I don't know how to get this thing done, and I don't want to loose info on my site as you know is a live site.

I really appologize for buging you I know u're busy, I was trying to delete some info on the site to see if I can make space so I deleted all the info in www.arodrive.com/kokori/Portals/0/ and some how the Stylesheet Editor  in the site settings became empty, I had some CSS scripts for Private message modules I had on the site. When i repaste the script it does not stick.

Can you please help.

Edgar
