I have updated the forums on my site to the latest version this weekend and just wanted to say thank you !

To all of the team members, beta testers and qa people: did an excellent job

This version was definately worth waiting for this long period of time.

The update went smoothly and making myself confident with the new administration, icons a.s.o. was really fun.

All the best, Tom.

Thanks Tom, glad to hear things are going well for you. I hope to have an update out soon that has Ajax enhancements for mainly administrators, and all outsanding bugs fixed. Looks like this can happen pretty soon too.

I agree - great job!

It still needs quite a bit of polishing but a good base to build upon.

Thanks.

It was important to get the base more solid and written in a more manageble fashion. This part I have completed. While I think it needs polishing, I don't think it needs that much. The recent public release allowed me to get a feel for the errors in the multiple environments the community uses. In total there are 25 bugs logged, 14 I have corrected or were duplicates, and out of the remaining 11 not all have been verified.

Chris,

By polishing I meant more improving the usability and flexibility – the use of templates and tokens are the big ones here. I have been playing with the css and images but it really can not rival a template/token system used by some third party modules (ventrian.com for example). Yes, you can change colors and images but you can not change layout and often times the same css class controls more than one element – for example I want to make my New Thread button distinct but if I do that it will change the Next and Previous buttons which serve a completely different purpose.

There are several smaller things - more intuitive way to create a poll, small avatars not “stretching”, quick reply section, polls not showing unless you sign in etc.

Again, you have done an excellent job in getting this very important release out the door. All I am trying to do is provide some constructive feedback from an end user stand point.

Thanks.

Ivan
