Can someone walk me through setting up a development environment?  The VSI kit doesnt work well at all for me... I tried to extract the source and just simply build it.. that doesnt work...

I just want to know from step 1 how to get VS2005 running so I can try to develop a module.. I am confident in the vs2005 but I dont know the inner workings of this project and have found very little to help me get started in the development side of things.

Thhanks

Ok great thank you... I got this up and running... where can  find out more about the Data Access Layer and how to program within the framework? I want to make sure I use best practices in my modules and dont reinvent the wheel here.  Thanks for being patient and helping me through this.

Thanks

Thank you sir.... I just finished reading that document.  Let me ask you something...  if you want to use

DotNetNuke.Data.DataProvider.Instance().ExecuteScalar

To execute against another db that is confugured as a connection string in my web.config is this possible... what I am asking is can I use the ConcreteProviders to execute against different databases in my organization or should I create my own methods for this?

Thanks
