We have a site that has the skin with a fixed width.

When I place an image in a text box that has a width of 900px it pushes the page width past the fixed width.

I have to reduce the size of the image down to around 560px before it stops forcing the page width.

Does anyone have any idea why?

cheers

Martyn

That fact that the image scales the skin is normal (because it's based on tables). your image is 940 px wide.

The reason you have to make it much smaller then 770 px is caused by the Contentpane's width that is set to 100% in skin.css.

Left and right pane are 175px, and together with the 100% of the contentpane that makes a totla above 100%, causing problems.

If you remove the useless 100% from skin.css your problem should be solved.

(The problem only occuers in IE)
