I am on step 4 of a clean installation for DNN 4.7.  I haven't gotten to the actual installation of DNN...I am just preparing for it I am running XP so I am still in the instructions for 3.X

I am trying to set my file permissions.  According to the instructions when I open up the security settings for my root folders, I should see a Group policy called NETWORK SERVICES.  According to the MS...this should already be installed on my machine...but guess what...it isn't.

Network Service account

The Network Service account is a special built-in account that has reduced privileges similar to an authenticated user account. This limited access helps safeguard the computer if an attacker compromises individual services or processes. A service that runs as the Network Service account accesses network resources using the credentials of the computer account in the same manner as a Local System service does. The actual name of the account is NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService, and it does not have a password that an administrator needs to manage.

Any ideas on what to do about it?

Oh and I am not using simple file sharing permissions.

Thanks, Dilly Dally
