I have an existing DNN site hosted on domain1.com and I want to move it to domain2.com provided another host, after I moved the source files and SQL database, it still doesn't work. When I type in domain2.com, it always redirects me to domain1.com, can you tell me what else I need to modify?

make sure, you update the new domain url in the portal alias (Host :: Portals, select portal and scroll down to the end of the page) before transferring the site or in the database, table PortalAlias.

First of all, I am trying to move SQL database. I changed the connect string to point to my new SQL server address in web.config on domain1.com, but it seems not sufficient. It is still talking to the old DB. Do you know what I have missing here?

I changed that HTTPAlias column in PortalAlias table to www.domain2.com, now it is in a deadlock redirect loop...

On the chance that you can still access the website using the original URL, you can modify the Hosts file on your workstation to point the old URL to your new IP address.

Hopefully, if you can gain entry into your website you should be able to undo any configurations you think are causing a deadlock situation, but I also think that there is more to your situation than you've described because what Sebastion recommended should have worked. If you are successful gaining access to the Portal Alias configurations, I'd also recommend that you configure "localhost" as a valid portal alias so that if necessary you can download and deploy the entire website on your own machine, re-configure whatever you need, do the Hostfile trick I described above to test your new deployment on your local machine, then when you're satisfied it all works upload to the Hosting Provider.

HTH.
