I have been looking at a few e-commerce module from which to build our test store.  Unfortunately, the DNN core module does not do what we need it to do.  We need to be able to have size/color options when the customer selects a product, and for som eproducts, the customer will need to give us additional information.  For example, if someone buys a new club membership online, we need to have them fill out a form which will then e-mail their information to our membership director.  It would also need to assign them a membership ID, and allow them to build their online account.  We also have custom embroidery on som eitem (like the members name on a Lettermans jacket), and would like to be able to allow the buyer to enter that information.  I have been looking at Catalook and at the SysDataNet modules.  All of our payment processing is through paypal, and every module supports that.  We generally sell club shirts, jackets, membership, various small items (like logo clocks, logo glassware), and plan on adding a womens apparel line this spring.  The regalia sales are mostly for moral boosting (we make no money on them), and to help drum up interest at car shows.  Can we get a few recomendations from people that have actually used either of these platforms, and perhaps recomendations for others I have not found yet?  I don't know that ali-commerce will work for us, they do not outline their features well, and I do not see anything about be able to set user selected attributes.  Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!

Well, I downloaded the trial version of catalook, and that is a BIG program!  I decided to create a new protal for playing with it, and it is installed and appears to be working.  It will definately take a while to learn how to properly use this monster!

We use both cataLook and Portal Store.  Overall we prefer Portal Store, but each has its unique advantages.  Both of these products are, in my opinion, cornerstones in the DotNetNuke community.  They've both been around since the early days of DotNetNuke.

Shane,

Do you have samples of where you've used Portal Store that you can share so I can see it in action

Thanks in advance

Steve

This post is from a year ago, but still sums up my opinion.

ASPDNSF for DNN is out now for a while and if you are interested, I have a basic demo running here.
