Currently, there is no formal .NET2/DNN4x version of the Event module.

I offer myself as volunteer to do work for this project and help to create this version. I've seen a number of suggestions/tips for solving some of the migration problems, but creating a real new version of the module would benefit all here in this forum.

Anybody out there caring to join to create/join the team to do this?

Hi EPT,

thanks for volunteering - good to hear that someone is willing to continue the development! Unfortunately, my programming skills are rather poor (I'm more a web designer), so I think I cannot really support the programming, but I'm willing to support the beta testing as soon as development is done (I already did a bit of beta tesdting for version 3.3.7).

Hope that helps a bit!

Nice! Testing a module is ever so important. I consider the fact that you are not a 100% developer a plus point. Experience with testing the module is certainly a bonus.

I already started to create a DNN4x version, but need 1 or 2 more developers to get a real team to produce a real new version of the module.

Great to see this being picked up as it has pretty much been abandoned from what I can see here. I'm no developer either but can offer workflow, UI and strategy.

There are at least two previous off-shoots of the core events module floating around. When I get back from my break I'll dig them up and see if the people who worked on those might be keen to assist.

Also, Erik van Ballegoij is the project sponsor for the core Events module and would no doubt also be happy to see it started up, and may be able to assist with some advice.

Great to read that there are more voluntairs. I've found 1 version of the module modified for DNN 4.x/.NET2 and used that as basis for the new 04.00.00 version. I've alined the interface to make it more DNN like (e.g. left aligned labels) and started to dig around and document the code a little better.

I know Erik personally (he's one of the Dutch DNN user group masters) and talked about this with him before I offered help.

Looking forward to working together!
