We're experiencing the same thing with the new Forum module using DNN 4.08. We were able to see the icons beside the names in the Member List logged in as an admin, but not when logged in as a registered user. Now after experimenting with the Theme and the Theme Image Extension, but changing it back to the defaults of Default and PNG, we have the same problem regardless of how we are logged in: missing graphic (red X). We have tried installing the module a 2nd time, experimented with it much the same way, and had the same disappointing result. I assume there is some sort of bug here. Have you or anyone out there found a fix for this?

And by the way, I see no way to enable or disable this feature in the Global Settings area when logged in as an admin and have been through that area over and over again. At the individual level (My Settings) it is easy to locate, however. I don't believe there is one at the global level for User Online display. Thanks, Clayton

Clayton,

can it be you are using a browser via a Windows Server?  If yes, it is blocked by the enhanced Browser Security of your Server.

Regards

Matthias

A other I know is some custom skins are using a java script to correct browser issues with I.E and transparency images.  This will caused a conflict with the png js in the Global settings of the Forum administration.
