I am installing the starter kit which correctly copies the *.zip to their ItemTemplates & ProjectTemplates folder locations (on a remote shared drive) however when I open VS 2005 and select File > New Web Site... my VS 2005 sits there with an hour glass doing nothing. Eventually I have to kill it in the task manager OR *surprisingly I can delete the "DotNetNuke.zip" file from the "ProjectTemplates\Visual Web Developer\VisualBasic" directory and the Editor resumes... but of course without the option to create a DNN site.

My machine is set to save "My Documents" and therefore all my VS 2005 Project files on the shared drive for network profiling (backup reasons)... and I do have all the neccessary security permissions set for myself and actually "Everyone."

Also, if I edit the registry and make the ItemTemplates & ProjectTemplates point to a locall directory everything acts fine except there is no option to create a DNN site as described in the documentation.

BTW, I'm on XP.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I figured out what the problem was... a minor bug. When you "install" (rename the "DotNetNuke_4.0.2_StarterKit.zip" to "DotNetNuke_4.0.2_StarterKit.VSI" and execute) the starter kit copies the "DotNetNuke.zip" file to your "\ProjectTemplates\Visual Web Developer\VisualBasic\" directory... when it needs to be put into the the "\ProjectTemplates\" directory only. If you move the file over it works fine.

I hope that helps.
