Hi All,

I just created a custom container and uploaded it via he "Upload Container" link on the skins page, and it did appear to upload successfully...

However, when I go to the "settings" of a module, and try to set the container to my new container, it does not appear.

If I go to the skins admin, I can set find my container and hit "apply" (which I think applies it to all modules on the site?) and subsuquently my Text/HTML modules use my new container... but obviously this is not the way I would like to be setting containers all the time.  What if I want to use more than one container?

I'm new to containers, so all I did was copy one of the default DNN containers ("Text Header - White Background.ascx"), packaged it up into a zip along with the container.css file, and uploaded that.  Did I miss something?

If interested, you can download said zip here.

Skins can be installed at a portal and a host level. You probably uploaded it using the admin skins page so it's available from the portal skins. The settings default is to look for the ones at the host, there's a couple of radio buttons that let you do this in the container settings area you mentioned.

I think hooligannes' comment is for DNN3/4, not DNN2, which is what it looks like you're running. I'm not sure how DNN2 works, tho.

jbeall,

Let me go more in detail.

A skin/container uploaded from Host>skins will only appear in the host skin listing

A skin/container uploaded from Admin>skins will only appear in the admin skin listing.

When you go to Admin>Site Settings> and go to the Appearance section you will see a place to set the skins for Portal and Admin and Containers for Portal and Admin. Each dropdown list will be filled with the skins that correspond (see remarks in green above).

Now, looking at your screen shot, that's your container right there, you need to click only in Apply (after selecting Portal/Admin or both)

What you don't see is a thumbnail. It must be a file with the same name as the ascx file followed by the .jpg extension.

PS. Flanakin, he's using DNN 3/4 from what is visible
