I have been experimenting with default DNN option to enable secure login.

I am using skin with LOGIN token on it. There’s no Login Module on web site.

What I did is I made changes in Admin section where default login page is set. I changed from option “non specified “ to default start page.  Now as soon as I press default login link I am redirected to main page.

How could I get login box (module) on site, again?!

Robert - if you have access to your sites database you can manually set LoginTabID to NULL to get out of this jam. You may have to restart your site for this to take affect.

I wasn't first making this mistake!  Thanks for help Patrick - keyword that I needed was LoginTabID.

For all folks for future:
access to DB - update dbo.Portals set LoginTabId = null where PortalId = 0
no access to DB - John Mitchell web reset

I appear to have the same thing - set login to home page by mistake.

however, when I go into SQL server management studio  express - I can not see any tables listed in the table folder. - I presume this is where i perform the update below?

update dbo.Portals set LoginTabId = null where PortalId = 0

This is my error when I enter the above in a new query and execute:

Msg 208, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Invalid object name 'dbo.Portals'.

For anyone else who has lost there login screen...

You can download an "Open Sesame" page and upload it to the root of your website, then execute by calling it in the browser
You will find this on John Mitchell's website:

...it updates your DB, then you change the LoginTabId back to what it was.
This should get you back to your login prompt page.
