I've been running DNN on my dedicated box using SQL Server 2000 for years. I need to add a critical module that only runs on SQL server 2005. So, I'm considering upgrading my DNN installations to SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. Is there a script or any documentation on a seamless approach to doing so? I haven't found any threads on the topic yet (btw, I'm running 4.6.2).

Thanks, John

John,

You will be able to create a SQL Server 2000 backup (in Sql Server Enterprise Manager right click on your database -> all tasks -> backup databse) and restore that on your Sql Server 2005 server (using Sql Server Management Studio right click on databases - > restore -> select backup file).

It is my understanding that restoring an 2000 databse to a 2005 sql server will then allow you take advantage of the 2005 features.

hope that helps,

Ian
