the message is letting you know that your core version of dotetnuke is incompatible with that version of the reports module. If you check the downloads page @ http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/125/default.aspx you'll see that the reports module requires 4.03.05 or above, so you'll need to upgrade to that version or higher to use that release of the reports module.

As mentioned in a previous post, the Minimum DNN Version stated on the download page was incorrect. The module requires version 04.07.00 of DNN or higher and does NOT install on older DNN versions.

If you are not able to upgrade to DNN 4.7 for some reason, please let me know by emailing me (andrew DOT nurse AT dotnetnuke DOT com). I am considering writing a version of Reports 5.0 that will install on older versions of DNN (though it will be missing some of the features). However, I do not want to take time away from new development unless I know there is some interest in this .

Thanks for clarifying, and I apologize for missing the other post about versions.  We upgraded our development environment to dnn 4.8 and installed the reports module just fine.  Took a little bit to figure out how to get the SSRS (Sql Server Reporting Services) visualizer to work.

The report module is something we use all the time.  We create custom web applications using ListX from r2integrated and SQL Server 2005.  Part of what we deliver are digital dashboards in the app using multiple report modules on one page.  Part of the big problem we have had is in finding and using a true "Enterprise" level module for SSRS in DNN.  The ones we have tried have given us only a certain amount of satisfaction, mostly because they are not truly discreet.  What I mean is if you install more than one instance of the module in the same portal then the configuration either fully applies or somewhat applies to all other of the instances of the module.  The modules that allow you to select reports from a menu or combobox don't seem to let you pass custom parameters, and the modules that allow you to send parameters have their own set of limitations.

Anyway, it looks like this reports module gives us everything we need in one package:  The ability to show quick simple and not so simple grids, charts and graphs, and now a nice SSRS interface.

Thanks for the hard work in getting this new version of the module released.  Mr. Nurse, if you ever feel that your work is not appreciated and that people can be ungrateful please know that you are making this one person and his group of non-developers jobs easier.
