run the blow query to update the DesktopModules table to fix any incorrect entries

UPDATE DesktopModules
SET SupportedFeatures = 0
WHERE SupportedFeatures = -1

This still isn't fixed???

Yeah, I know the feeling.

For the first time in years, a client is livid after a v4.8 upgrade from v4.6.x.

After spending most of the day trying to figure out why adding a role to a user throws an error, but only on SOME accounts and not all, I'm left with trying to roll the thing back to 4.6.x.

I thought 4.8 was a safe bet but am starting to wonder.

Hi dnn-fellows

Here I'am again.
I rolled back my site on localhost to version 04.05.00. Event viewer works fine.
I've controlled the exception in the event viewer... like I said above.
I've tried to upgrade to 04.08.00.
In the config with "AutoUpgrade" value="false"
and http://localhost/-------/Install/Install.aspx?mode=Install
Dotnetnuke do not the upgrading process. Site unavailable.
Whet I set "AutoUpgrade" value="true" the upgrading process are working when I surf to http://localhost/------- and everything looks fine...
But when I go to the event vieuwer I see the same error.
My conclusion is clear now...
Version 04.08.00 is NOT a stabil upgrade version.
I roll back to 04.05.00.

Hi,

we are experiencing the exact same thing on one praticular site when upgrading from 4.6 to 4.8.1. Other sites that have been upgraded from 4.6 to 4.8.1 are running fine. Did you get a solution or understanding of this problem?

Best

We experienced this error and did the following to correct it...

Under host settings I believe under performance or other settings, we had previously checked the event log boffer box without changing the buffer count from zero. Going in and updating this number to another value like 5 seemed to take care of it. We will keep monitoring our site to ensure this is the solution but it appears to be back to normal.
