Ok, I used the intall .zip.  Created a virtual directory, assigned NETWORK SERVICE rights, .NET 2.0.50727 as the version, etc., set SQL connection string

As soon as I changed the ASP.NET version to 2.0.50727 (was getting the 1.1 "requirePermission" error) via IIS > Default Web Site > DNN > Properties > ASP.Net tab, I now just get 404 errors saying the pages don't exist - although they clearly do exist in those locations and before I changed to 2.0.50727 I was calling that very page and getting the requirePermission error!

Any idea as to why there are now 404 errors?

Check the logs.  Make sure ASPX is an allowed extension.  Check permissions.
