Hi,

I would like to add a pointed question to this....

The question is.....

"Would a standard DNN public website be breaking the current DDA Accessibility laws?"

a)..... In the US???

b)....In the UK??

Thanks,

Sam

Hi All,

I realise that I am bringing this post to the top of the list... however I actually think this is important.... although it may seem a little boring... I have tried to track down something about this subject in DNN books to no avail. So I am suspecting that there is a hole here.....

I would be be most grateful if someone could enlighten me on the state of compliance of DNN and its sites with Section 508, XHTML, and other DDA accessibility laws...

Thanks,

Sam

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your interest and responses to this post.

Sebastian: Would it be possible to get Timo to add his thoughts? Is he in a position to comment on DNN’s current/future plans for DNN regarding accessibility and XHTML compliance?

I have been chatting with Tim O’Brien who you may have come across in older post on this subject. He said it is possible to alter the DNN source code to make it both XHTML Compliant and Double AA compliant:

“it is quite easy to make the core of DNN XHTML and only a bit more difficult to make the core at least AA accessibility compliant. The problems are mainly in the modules that you add to the mix.”

Tim managed to make a AA compliant version of DNN 4.0.x. This is very promising.

I look forward to hearing more from DNN on this subject.

Cheers,

Andy
