I discovered that I had some typos; some places I had "MemberProvider" and others I had "MembershipProvider".

But after fixing this, the errors did not go away.  They are exactly as before.

Interestingly, if I change the assembly name as specified in the Web.config (e.g., I change the text after the comma) to anything else, I get an error about not being able to load the assembly.

But if I leave it as is, I get an error about not being able to load the type from the specified assembly.

In other words, it looks like it's finding my file... but it can't load my class from it for some reason?  What's up with that?

Seems that the attributes are whitespace sensitive.  I was using whitespace to help separate the assembly from the type, and that was goofing things up.

Now it loads properly.
