I would like to employ using SSL with DNN when a user is logging in, the site is being updated by the admin and/or host, when a user is editing information, when a user is entering data on a form, etc. I suppose at this time, my main concern is to have DNN allow the user to login securely through using SSL (https) at login time. What do I have to do to employ this in DNN? I know it is possible. I am currently using the latest release - 4.8.0.

Are there differences between having your own SSL certificate and using a shared SSL certificate provided by the web host?

Thanks,
Jody Wood

you can either run the entire site under SSL, or you can set various page(s) to be secured (see http://www.venexus.com/Resources/Blog/tabid/136/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/7/Enable-SSL-in-DotNetNuke.aspx for an example of page level SSL)
