By resetting the web.config I just mean making a simple change to it, adding a carraige return, then saving the file. This will cause the application to reload.

look in \dnninstalldirectory\admin\authentication   it shouldn't be aspx, but ascx since it's a "control".  the default.aspx that you're seeing in the address is the main file that loads controls and really doesn't exist where it's showing it does.  don't worry abou that too much.

No they did not and after getting all the files the site works fine now. Thanks for you help on this and now I get to have fun exploring all the modules in DNN.
