um mm my teacher told me i need ASp.net something like that and IIS things to download but i dont know .. were or wich ones to download.

As far as IIS that is Internet Information Services.  you can get to it by going to start run and running inetmgr.  If it does not come up you will need to install it.  You will need your windows install disc for this.  If you are running xp home you do not have it available to you, and you will need to pursue other methods of getting DotNetNuke to run.  I would suggest using cassini server to get it running on xp home.

 

If you are running xp professional or another version of windows that has IIS available then make sure it is installed.  The file Your teacher is talking about is probally the dotnetfix file locaed

This will install the ASPNET user on your system if you do not already have int installed.  The ASPNET user is needed to give your DotNetNuke directory the proper permissions
