I am looking for help desk modules, specifically a ticketing system and knowledge base.  Does anyone use one that is effective?

Old Turtle looks good, but it doesn't look like it has a knowledge base -- and it's a bit pricey.

SigmaPro has far more than I need and I have spent all day trying to configure it properly without success.

DNTS looks easy to use, but seems to be dead -- at least no one responds to requests on Snowcovered.

I really don't know where to go so I would really really really appreciate any help -- really, I mean it.

Well I just purchased SigmaPro myself, it is complex, but honestly it is a VERY good product.....

Hello,

our new product, released in January 2009, has everything: Knowledge Base, POP3 polling, SLA, attachments, automatic email conversation, and a CRM that we are extending right in these weeks.

Online demo on www.oldturtle.net

Thanks!

Brandon - just throwing this out there - have you considered something like GetSatisfaction (ie. an online web-based service you can integrate?)

I use the free "Feedback" widget on PokerDIY - they have a fullblown helpdesk as well, not sure about pricing or your exact requirements but a lot of these dedicated services are pretty cool and useful...

SmarterTools is good too. You could do a class C like support.yoursite.com.

But don't discount Old Turtle, they are definitely worth a strong look.
