I'm a web designer, and don't know much about the server side of things, but I'm attempting to install a local copy of DNN 4.8.1 on my Windows XP Pro machine.  I had to install ISS, and SQL Server Express 2005.  I'm following Mitchel Seller's tutorial here...

...which is awesome, and I think I've done everything correctly, but when I run the install.aspx, I get the error below...any help would be great, thanks!

Server Error in '/DotNetNuke' Application.

Generally access denied errors are permission errors on the computer itself. Does the NETWORK SERVICE account have Modify rights to your DNN install?

I've never worked with this stuff before, so you have to be a little more specific...When right clicking on the DNN folder, and when I go to the security tab, I set the ASP.NET Machine Account [MIKE\ASPNET] to full control...Is this what you are talking about?  or is there somewhere else I need to be looking?

i got it working with huge help from Mitchel Sellers.  i had to go into my security settings in my files folder, select ASP.NET Machine Account and go into Advanced and check the check box that says..."Replace permission entries..."  That set all the files and subfolders to the correct permissions, then I went into IE and typed in...http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Install/Install.aspx?mode=install and it worked.  Big thanksto Mitchel, hes the man.
