Thank you I found this extremely interesting information. In fact, I first learned to skin a year ago and found it so totally frustrating that I quit until recently, when my church just didn't like any of the skins available to purchase and I reluctantly decided to try again. Someone took pity on me and told me about VWD. I can't even imagine how I ever got a skin to work at all the first time. No wonder I was so frustrated!

I am going to give your instructions a try, because even though I've worked out most of the quirks in at least IE6 and Firefox, I have noticed that it's still throwing part of my page layout out-of-whack when I am in admin mode. The footer image jumps over to the left and sticks out, then after update it's back like it should be. This is in IE7 and i don't even want to know what it's doing anywhere else!

This info makes alot of sense and I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to post it here! I'll let you know how it works out

Well I'm glad I helped someone :->

If you want, your welcome to set up a free portal on my site if you wanna show your skins off. I can't give you upload permissions, but I can upload them for you.  Not a whole lot going on right now with my site so it's not a problem.  I can get back to you quicker via my forums too.

Anyhow it's no cost to you for the free portal.  I found out that it's alot more fun, and the ideas come faster if I have a live website up that I can show to people at work or something so that I can get feedback on my ideas.  Don't ever take it personal if someone doesn't "like" your idea, rather take it as a chance to improve.  Feedback from your church is very valuable.  You can ask "why don't you like this skin".

I love helping people, and it actually improves my skills to read forums and help so I can run into new problems, or other ways of doing things.  I'm hoping eventually we can get a smaller group of people togather in my forums..kinda like a club :-> so that we can talk more casually amongst oursevles if that makes sense.

Anyhow glad to see you trying again.  I had alot of the same troubles years ago.  the product(dotnetnuke) has come along way since then.  I think my skill set with ASP and .NET has improved enough to learn it all.

I just re-started screwing with DNN about ohh oct, and if you look at my site it's come along way I think.  Next step is how the heck to make money so i can work from an island somewhere warm durring the winters :->
